FreeBASIC Tracker

Site Background and Goals

The FreeBASIC Tracker is a free resource for the FreeBASIC community designed to help folks stay up to date on their favorite FreeBASIC projects and websites. The idea is that members of the community can quickly sign up for an account and add their current website and projects to the directories. When it's time to make community-wide announcements, such as new sites, project releases, and competitions, users can easily add news briefs to the FB Tracker site. News briefs can be stand alone or reference a site/project in the directory for easy linking. Anyone in the community can use an RSS reader or bookmarking tool (like that provided by Firefox) to get a feed of the latest news briefs around the community.

That's the goal, a single news source for a distributed network of FreeBASIC developers.

Developer and His Tools

The FB Tracker is being developed by Ryan, a long time member of the FreeBASIC community and convert from the old QB community centered around QBasic News and other sites of that era. This site is being developed in Drupal, which Ryan does for a living by leading the Ubercart project and building Drupal powered websites for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
